TWD is taking a little trip down to the FL springs to dive our usual winter dive spots. We have some new divers that are needing to get their checkout dives , and we would love to have some certified divers to help us show them a good time.
Our plan is to leave Boone Friday the 9th, and drive to Kingsland, GA, where we will spend the night. On Saturday we will have the opportunity to sleep in, and checkout of the hotel around 10:00am, drive to Dunellon, FL, and do a couple of beautiful shallow drift dives in Rainbow River. After that we will drive down to Crystal River, FL and check into our usual hotel there, the Best Western which is right on the water, with a pool, hot tub, tiki bar, and restaurant. On Sunday we will dive Blue Grotto, and possibly rent a pontoon boat and dive the Kings Bay cavern, and or visit Three Sisters Springs. Monday morning we will check out, and head up north to Manatee Springs State Park where we will do two of my favorite cavern dives. Then we will start the trek back up to Boone that afternoon. It's a lot of great diving for the buck.
The cost for this trip is:
Certified Divers with their own gear $375
Divers who need checkout dives $375 +$120 for two days of checkout dives
Full set of rental gear $60/ discounts for partial sets
*Deep Diver specialty $95. Blue Grotto Sunday afternoon. Certified divers only.
