TWD is trying something new, typically we do our FL springs trips in the winter to escape the cold (which we will continue to do), but we want to offer a last summer getaway before kids go back to school.
This is designed for new Open Water Students who need check out dives, but the certified diver can also enjoy this trip as well.
Our next OW class is August 3rd-5th, and this trip to Florida is the very next weekend August 9th-12th. Anyone that has signed up for the OW class should take advantage of this opportunity to do their checkout dives in a relaxed fun environment, crystal clear water, and beautiful scenery.
We will leave TWD on Thursday the 9th TBD and drive all the way to our accommodations in Lake City, FL staying at the Days Inn by Wyndham off of I-75. We will dive Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and then drive back to Boone, NC after our last dives on Sunday. We will be diving fresh water springs that are 72 degrees year round. Two of the springs are going to be new for us, so come help us pioneer into new dive locations. We plan on diving Royal Springs, Orange Sink, and Troy Springs. Troy Springs is one that we have dove in the past and really enjoy, there is a lot of life in this spring, and the remains of a civil war wreck!
The Cost Breakdown
$350 for certified divers who have gear
$420 max for certified divers who need to rent gear
$495 for checkout students who need to rent gear (All 4 checkouts included + 2 dives after you're certified.)
Tanks, entry fees, and accommodations are included. Meals and travel down are at your expense. We can carpool down, or you are free to leave as early as you want to drive down. Check in time is at 2pm. Lets go explore!
