We will leave Boone, NC around 4-5PM Friday, March 20th and drive to Kingsland, GA to spend the night. (About 7hrs). You can meet us there if you are not leaving from Boone. Or you can meet us Sat. Morning in Dunellon, FL.
We will wake up around 7AM Sat. Morning & eat a good free breakfast and hit the road to Dunnellon, FL. (A little over 2 1/2 Hrs Southwest) If you are meeting us on Saturday you can meet us at 11:30 am at the McDonald's 11012 North Williams Street, Dunnellon, FL 34432.
We'll head on over to do the Rainbow River dive first and then over to the hotel in Crystal River/Kings Bay Springs area.
We are planning to get up Sunday Morning and head to Blue Grotto for a unique cavern dive experience and to finish up checkouts with students. We will then head back over to dive Kings Bay Springs and look for the manatees near a neat little cavern over there. We also have the choice to take the pontoon boats to Three Sisters Springs where we will snorkel back into a neat little tributary spring area where the manatees love to just hang out and relax. http://www.fws.gov/refuge/Crystal_River/about.html
Cost is $350 and includes all three nights of lodging, entrance fees to the parks, tanks for certified divers, pontoon boat rentals. If you need gear from Two Worlds Divers be sure to setup a time to come by the shop (828-265-2255 - leave a message). Full gear rental is $50 and will be reduced according to what you need. We also have lots of new gear in the shop for purchase. If you want to purchase a GoPro camera before the trip let us know immediately as we may be placing an order in the next week.
Monday we will hit Manatee Springs State Park for two dives on our way back to NC. These are really cool dives and if you just got your openwater these will be your first dives you get to really just hang out and be in awe of your new underwater world without having to prove your skills. Now you can start honing them and becoming a better diver.
